Featured items are direct purchase items available to event guests and may be purchased in unlimited quantities. These items include hand crafted pieces made in our Project Worth Shop.
The Worth Shop offers an opportunity for the poor and homeless to be creative and endeavor to build products that go to market. Clients can work a predetermined amount of time (30 min, 1 hr, etc.) and receive food, clothing, shelter and/or other basic needs in exchange.
They work alongside volunteers and have an opportunity to build relationships while they perform simple tasks like disassembling and recycling donated air conditioners or crafting leather bracelets and journals. The products they make are sold to partially offset the cost of the services they receive. This exchange for their basic needs provides a reawakened sense of value as dignity is preserved and the cycle of dependency on handouts is broken.
