COLUMBIA, Mo — The Cassville Wildcats Football team lost to the Odessa Bulldogs 49-28 in the Class 3 State Championship on Saturday.

Wildcats Head Coach Lance Parnell said, “That’s just the type of kids we have at Cassville, the type of work ethic they have. They’re going to give you everything they’ve got and play their hearts out and that’s what these guys have done all year long.”

Cassville Senior Bowen Preddy said, “We definitely did a good job leading. I felt like we lead our team here greatly. But also we left leaders below us. The seniors next year are going to be able to do the same thing. They’re athletes and they’re going to push their teammates.”

Cassville ends the season at 12-3, and the state runner-up.
