Missouri Southern softball falls in a 1-0 pitchers duel to Rogers State.

The lone run came in the top of the 6th inning when the Hillcats’ Jaylan Gibson smacked a single into shallow center allowing Abigail Taylor to score from second.

Before that Southern pitcher Taurean Guzman had been on top of her game. The senior had given up only three hits before the sixth inning while striking out five. The only performance that was better in this matchup was her counter part, Andrea Morales of Rogers State, who struck out 11 in the complete game, shut out victory.

Southern returns to action on Friday at home in a double-header against the top ranked UCO Bronchos. First pitch of game one is at 2 PM.
