Pierce City soars into 2018

The Pierce City Eagles finished 2017 with an 11-1 record and are hoping to improve on last season success this year.

The Eagles will turn to junior quarterback, Colten O’Hara to replace graduated senior, Gage Brown. They will also return two of their skills players from last year in Trey Sagehorn and Jackson Kleiboeker.

“Trying to get them to focus on how close they were to having a district title and, you know as far as, what we’ve done to get prepared for that. Just gotta continue to get bigger and stronger, and realize that, you know, the games are won whenever the lights aren’t on,” said head coach, Brad Hocker, about how far his team made it last year.

“It’s not easy, we know that we have to work hard, it won’t be an easy road,  we need to just compete everyday, take one game at a time, and, just keep working hard,” added junior quarterback, Colten O’Hara.

Junior receiver, Jackson Kleiboeker, said “we got a good taste of victory last year, but we got a sour taste whenever it ended. I don’t want that to happen again, so, I just know how hard I’m going to have to work, to keep it up.”

Pierce City kicks off their season on Friday, August 24th at home against Lockwood.
