Boswell makes history and earns Semifinal Top Performer


After the dust settled on Saturday, every remaining Southwest Missouri football team were defeated, but it was what Mount Vernon Senior Linebacker, Will Boswell accomplished during the game that earned him the Top Performer award for the semifinals.

Boswell would set the Missouri High School Football tackles record after picking up his 630th career tackle in the Mountaineers loss to Cardinal Ritter. Boswell would break the previous record by six tackles.

#2 Jayden Morgan – Carthage – Sr. – WR: 8 catches, 159 yards, 3 TDs

#3 Patrick Carlton – Carthage – Soph. – QB: 17-of-28, 228 pass yards, 3 passing TDs & 109 rush yards

#4 Duncan Gepner – Lamar – Sr. – QB: 27 carries, 105 yards, 3 rushing TDs

#5 Kade Hicks – Webb City – Jr. – LB: 8 tackles, 1 interception

The Top Performer of the Year will be announced next Monday on KODE News at 6 & 10.
