YMCA thanks community with annual Healthy Kids Day

News

The Joplin YMCA held its annual Healthy Kids Day Saturday.

Saturday morning, families were able to come and get treats and see the local community supporting the four states’ youth.

Participants could get a free Panda Cares meal, a bicycle helmet from Aaron Sachs and Associates, and enter to win a $500 shopping spree to Academy Sports and Outdoors.

Event coordinators say this is just one way they want to show their appreciation.

Kim Gray, event coordinator, says, “It’s just the Y’s way of saying thank you to the community for your support all year long.”

Susan Crespino, General Manager of the Joplin Panda Express, says, “Just being here. And just being to have fun with them. And give it back to our community. And that’s really what we are about.”

Healthy Kids Day is the area’s largest expo for fun ideas to keep kids active and energetic while school is out.
