Runners throw on beads and masquerade mask’s in support of a local YMCA.

Fair Acres YMCA hosted the Inaugural Mardi Gras Masquerade 5K this morning — starting at the Historic Phelp’s House in Carthage.
Dozen’s braved the elements for a run or walk — then enjoyed some king cake and burritos donated by local businesses.
All funds raised from today’s event goes directly to the Fair Acres YMCA’s fitness department.

“I tell you this was our first year to try it and just the fact that they’ve come out and supported it even though it’s a little bit cold outside, but they still ran it. They all had smiles on their faces as they were coming in and we have some awesome participation medals. I’m hearing back reports that they are some of the best medals they’ve seen in the area.” says Tericia Mixon, Fair Acres YMCA Asst. Exec. Director

On March 16th, Fair Acres YMCA will partner with St. Ann’s Catholic Church for a Murder Mystery.
That event will be begin at 6 PM at the Historic Phelp’s House.
