Work underway on next round of laws in Kansas

The 2019 legislative session is still a month away from beginning, but the next round of Sunflower State laws are already being worked on.

Senator Richard Hilderbrand says he expects the upcoming legislative session to be a busy one in Kansas. Hilderbrand says the legislature may be considering Medicaid expansion, funding for the State Department for Children and Families and even changes to sports betting laws. And he says there may even be some consideration given to putting a question on the ballot, changing constitutional language regarding school funding.

“That’s always out there. We’ll have to see what happens. You know, there was talk of it last session, but nothing ever came up, so,” says Senator Richard Hilderbrand.

The 2019 legislative session will get underway at 2 p.m., Monday, January 14th.
