Webb City first responders hold “Badges and Burgers” cookout

News

First responders in Webb City host an annual cookout to support their community.

The fire and police departments held the ninth annual Badges and Burgers cookout today. For just five dollars, visitors could get a burger, chips, drink, and a dessert, as well as enter in a raffle.

Over the past eight years, Webb City first responders have raised more than forty eight thousand dollars. All of the proceeds go to the United Way and the Webb City cares program, which provides school supplies to underprivileged children in the district.

“I just want to really thank the community. We have great support here in Webb City and the surrounding communities. Everyone has been great about giving us items to … either help with the raffles or just to help with the meals,” says Andrew Roughton, Webb City Fire Chief.

Webb City first responders hope to raise more than ten thousand dollars with this year’s fundraiser.
