Webb City company helps residents recycle old electronics

To help jump start spring cleaning, people could recycle old electronics on Saturday.

The Region M Solid Waste Management District with Webb City hosted the E-Waste Collection Site.

People could bring their old computers, printers, TVs, cords and batteries free of charge to be disposed of.

Region M also had areas where people could take their electronics with sensitive information to be destroyed properly.

Patty Overman, District Planner for Region M, says, “I love it. It’s rewarding, honestly. Even to be out here on a Saturday, people are just happy to bring this here. It is a free event. Another thing is that they know [their electronics are] being disposed of properly. “

Region M is hosting these type of events to make sure our landfills don’t get overloaded with hazardous materials.
