A local organization is taking time out of their Saturday to beautify the community.

Vision Carthage held a planting day at the Boots Motel.

Carthage Junior High and the Ajinomoto Food Group also assisted with volunteers planting flowers, trees, and shrubs along the hotel.

This organization is just one of many that make up “America In Bloom,” where volunteers across America clean up community spaces one city at a time.

Bryan Stringer, Carthage In Bloom Co-Coordinator, says, “The last few weeks we’ve been working on the courthouse, the Jasper County Courthouse has flowers all around it. We still have a little bit of work to do there, but we really wanted it because this is the main visiting places for the city. We really wanted to throw a little emphasis on Boots Motel.”

Vision Carthage will be cleaning up and planting flowers at the Fair Acres Family YMCA in the coming weeks.
