A early morning search warrant leads to the arrest of a man on the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office’s most wanted list.
Deputies with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team arrested 43 Michael Allen Porter, 43, of Nevada, at a home west of Deerfield. Sheriff Jason Mosher says Porter attempted to escape through a window at the back of home, but ran back in when he saw deputies waiting in the back yard. Mosher says because they believed there were children in the home, deputies did not follow Porter back in, but tried calling him out instead. Porter was on the sheriff’s office’s most wanted list for felony domestic assault, failure to appear and a probation violation out of Bates county. He is being held in the Vernon county jail with bonds totaling just over $8,100.
