UPDATE: Missing teenager found alive after swept away in water

18-year-old Olivia Rogers has been found alive, after she was missing for 8 hours.

Rogers has been taken to a local hospital and is in good condition.

The Jasper County Emergency officials confirming she was found a couple miles down stream from where she were swept away, near the Belle Center area.

A local man found her on a sandbar while going to check on the creek’s water levels near his property. 

17-year-old Mason Corl was the boy rescued earlier in the night, and is also in good condition.

One person remains missing after 3 people are swept away in cars by high water in Jasper County.

Just before 11 Monday night, Carl Junction, Joplin, and Redings Mill emergency officials responded to two cars being swept into Turkey Creek, just north of Schifferdecker and west of Zora.

Search and rescue operations began, and around 12:20 A.M. a 17-year-old boy was rescued from the water.

He was taken to an area hospital in stable condition after being in the water for about 45 minutes.

Then, just after 2:00 A.M. another man was rescued from a car in shallow water on the north side of the creek.

He was taken to a hospital after about 3 hours in the water.

A third person is still missing.

The search is currently postponed, and will resume once there is some daylight, likely around 7 A.M.
