Two teenagers are being credited for saving their parents in a Webb City house fire.
Crews were called to the fire shortly before 10pm Monday night at the 500 block of Liberty.
The two teens were out of the house for several minutes when they came back and saw that smoke was coming out of the house.
The father tells us the kids tried to get in through the door, but they couldn’t so they broke a window to rescue both parents, who were sleeping.
Everyone was able to make it out safely, but the house is a total loss.
“We found flames coming out of the first and second story windows, and it had actually vented through the roof as well. We were told it had been occupied by four occupants: a mother, a father, and two children. We were told that the two children were able to come home and wake the parents up and get them out of the house safely,” says Andrew Roughton, Webb City Fire Chief.
Red Cross will be assisting the family.
The Webb City Fire Chief says they hope to know more about what caused the fire on Tuesday.
