Two arrested for drug trafficking in Joplin


Around 3:30 a.m. Monday morning, the Joplin Police Department responded to Zora and Range Line for a report of a vehicle stopped in the intersection. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered two males passed out in the vehicle.

A K-9 alerted officers of approximately 369 grams of meth concealed in the vehicle. Both occupants were arrested for first degree drug trafficking. The driver was also arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.

The driver was identified as Jeremy Diel, 36, of Galena, Kansas. The passenger was identified as Daniel Jackson, 37, of Joplin.

Charges have been submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office.
