Tornado touches down in remote part of Jasper County Monday

A tornado touched down in a remote portion of northeastern Jasper County Monday.

This video was shot by Lesa Jenkins of a tornado that touched down near the town of Dudenville, which is 7 miles south of Golden City. She tells KSN/KODE News that even if storm sirens went off, the area is too far away for residents to hear them.

Golden City Emergency Management Director Jeron Bilyeu says he thinks there were actually two twisters that were part of the same storm system. He says headstones were knocked over in a cemetery in Dudenville. He says there was also a swift water rescue northwest of Golden City on T Highway. Fortunately, he says there weren’t any injuries reported.
