Three southeast Kansas school districts are selected to take part in a state-wide redesign project.
Columbus, Frontenac and Northeast in Arma are among nineteen districts selected by the Kansas State Department of Education “The Kansas Can School Redesign Project” was created in 2015, with the first seven districts beginning work in 2017. The redesign is aimed at helping students develop success skills, forming community partnerships and personalized training with real-world applications. In Columbus, work will focus on the high school, in Frontenac, Frank Layden Elementary and the junior high school will the focus and in Northeast, redesign will take place at the high school. All districts in this phase are scheduled to launch their new school designs in the 2020-2021 school year.
