Local artists give the public a peak into their work as it’s created with a new display.
The Regional Gallery in the Spiva Center for the Arts is currently host to The Sketchbook Project exhibit.
It features 74 hand-made prints or drawings by 37 local artists, torn from their very own sketchbooks.
The center received an Artistic Innovations Grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance to pay for pads, color scans and prints and frames for the exhibit.
Artists say the variety of sketches represent the various interests, thoughts, hopes and dreams of area artists.
It also provides a unique look into an artists mind during the process of creating their work.
It will be on display now through June 23rd, and on the 23rd at 11 A.M. there will be an open discussion with a few of the artists about their pieces.
