Before 10 AM Wednesday, the Pittsburg High School resource officer was notified by several students that someone planned to come to the high school with firearms and shoot up the school. The school was put on soft lockdown while authorities investigated. That investigation determined a subject had forwarded threats through social media of plans to carry out a shooting on campus. Authorities were able to identify that subject, determine the threat was credible and responded to a Pittsburg home, taking the suspect into custody. Officials say it appears the teen acted alone and school was able to return to normal operations.
