Students at Pittsburg State and Lakeside Elementary collaborated today for a project to benefit animals at the humane society

Using math, Lakeside fifth graders built their own dog houses and art education Pitt State students helped design them.

The project comes in an effort to raise money for the SEK Humane Society.

One student says while building the homes was difficult, her classmates are excited to better the lives of animals in need.

Quoryn Harris, a 5th grader at Lakeside Elementary, “It’s really fun just to help. And the animals are so giving. And I just want to help every body. It’s awesome.”

Later on this month the school will donate houses to the humane society to be auctioned off at the Pittsburg artwalk.
