Recently, it was revealed during a city council meeting that area storm drains are in need of being replaced. Since they are made of metal instead of the newer pipes that are made of plastic, they are eroding and causing water to flood into homes. City leaders are planning to use funds from their budget to take care of the issue before more homes are effected
“Unfortunately, it happened to that part of town. And we’re going to replace it and make it better for them so they don’t experience this hopefully next year in the rainy season,” says Arma City Clerk Bette Lessen.
Also as severe storms swept through the city Monday night, residents reported wind damage and some broken tree limbs. In addition, electrical workers worked through the night to help restore power to the south side of the city.
