Steadley Elementary goes orange to support one of their students

A Carthage school turns orange to support one of its students.

Staff and students at Steadley Elementary School are donning the color to support student Ethan. The 5 year old was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is currently a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

He is expected to be there for the next 7 to 9 months to receive treatment, so his family is humbled by this community coming together in Ethan’s honor. Orange bracelets are also being sold to raise funds for the family and to support St. Jude.

“It’s a thing that a lot of kids can rally around, a lot of things that parents can do. And it’s just a great way to show the support that they have to get him back here, to get him back in the school next year and to be with these students and friends,” says Jonathan, Ethan’s older brother.

You can also help the hospital through the Southwest Missouri St. Jude Dream Home giveaway. Tickets are available now for one hundred dollars, for a chance to win the home or several other prizes.
