A Joplin car dealership gives back to children going through a difficult time in their lives.
For the sixth year in a row, Roper Kia presented a check as well as two car loads full of toys for kids that have been the victims of abuse.
This year’s check was in the amount of ten thousand dollars.
“And when we receive a donation like this it not only helps to support us financially, but also helps to support the lives of the children we serve, to be able to receive a new toy at a time in their life that is very difficult is a blessing to our kids,” says Vickie Dudley, Executive Director of the Children’s Center of Southwest Missouri.
“We live here, we do business here, um we believe we should take care of the community we live in and giving back is just part of that,” says Jack Frost with Roper KIA.
The dealership raised money by donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each vehicle during the month of April, which was child abuse awareness month.
They also gave free oil changes to anyone who brought in a toy.
