The city of Girard will be undergoing a $1 million project to improve area roads.
The K-47 project will include resurfacing highway 47 and addressing a drainage issue on highway 47 and ozark.
The two projects have an estimated cost of $1.3 million, KDOT will be funding 60% of the construction.
Any other outstanding costs will be covered by a community development block grant and the city’s transportation fund.
Girard is hoping to have the resurfacing project start sometime this summer.
