SNAP benefits to increase

SOUTHEAST KANSAS — Southeast Kansas families receiving food assistance are in for some good news.

The Kansas Department of Children and Families has announced that benefits through the SNAP Program increased the first of the year by 15% per household and will continue through June.

The temporary funding increase is the result of the passage of the most recent covid-19 relief bill. If your family already receives those benefits, the increase is automatic.
