Shots fired in Lamar after domestic disturbance incident


Reports of a domestic disturbance in Lamar left the city’s police department responding to an incident around 8:30 this morning. 

45 year old Jory D. Pennell of Lamar approached a homeowner in the city regarding an issue about some personal property. 

An altercation quickly started ,and Pennell fired two bullets, before escaping the scene. 

At the time there was an adult female and her two adult sons inside the home.

Authorities found Pennel at 26 NE 1st Road in Lamar hiding out in the residence. 

A short standoff took place before, multiple local authorites took him into custody. 

Pennel is now  in the Barton County Jail, and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

 Eight charges are being filed against him.
