An area health organization is offering free testing this weekend for an illness common among the “baby boomer” generation.
The Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas will offer free Hepatitis “C” testing this Saturday to anyone born between 1945 to 1965. The event is part of National Hepatitis Testing Day.
Members of that age group are five times more likely to have the condition than other adults. If left untreated, it can cause liver damage or even be fatal.
The testing takes place this Saturday at 3011 North Michigan in Pittsburg from 8am to 5pm. It’s open to any Four State resident.
