Rural intersection could get new road signs

The Jasper County Commission is taking a closer look at a rural intersection to see if it needs stronger traffic control measures.

Commissioners are looking at County Road 160 and Pembrook Road, an intersection about five miles north of Carthage. Residents have complained that the intersection can be confusing and risky. There’s currently just one stop sign affecting southbound traffic.

County commissioners are starting the process to see if any additional signs are warranted.
