Residents walk to help those that struggle with MS

The chilly air Saturday didn’t stop residents from walking for a good cause.

Walk MS 2019: Joplin was held in Landreth Park on Saturday.

More than 100 walkers came out for the event and walked a one or three mile route.

Each team has been raising money for months with the goal of trying to raise a total of $16,000.

Organziers were excited to see the event come together with support from the community.

Vanessa Hays, Development Specialist for the National MS Society, says,  “It’s overwhelming sometimes to see all the support you can get when you come to events like this. So it just warms your heart a little bit.”
