NEOSHO, Mo. - A trauma facility finishes renovations to better help its clients.
New Directions, an affiliate of the Ozark Center in Neosho, held a ribbon cutting and open house for the building's remodel.
Upgrades include an open reception area with no glass, wider and well-lit hallways and open offices. All designed to create a trauma-sensitive environment. With the new renovations, New Directions staff say clients now feel more welcome and comfortable in this space.
"We're really really focused on trying to make this easier for people that cross our threshold, to come into our building. It's a tough step sometimes and typically what we do here is substance use treatment and that's even harder to take that first step to come in our door and we feel this will make it much easier," says Vicky Mieseler, Chief Administrative Officer.
Construction began on the Neosho facility in January and was completed by March and was able to open to the public in April.
