Remote Work Opportunity Entices Barton County Residents

A local university extension is inviting county residents to learn about a new form of employment.

The University of Missouri Extension held a Rural Online Initiative Town Hall Meeting.
Barton County residents learned about remote work through a presentation with Utah State University Extension.
For 199 dollars, residents could become certified in a remote work program to work for education, health care, and law firms from home.

“This is the first time Utah State University Extension has partnered with another land grant university, like University of Missouri, so it’s really exciting that we’re going to be the first ones here in Barton County to try this out.” says Lindsey Stevenson, University of Missouri Extension County Engagement Specialist in Nutrition & Health

If Barton County residents complete the Rural Online Initiative Program, the University of Missouri Extension will give them a partial reimbursement.
