JOPLIN, Mo. - Community leaders are figuring out how to better serve the community, especially those who are suffering from addiction.
Founding members of the Recovery Outreach Community Center or ROCC are working hard to determine how they can best serve the community. This organization will serve as a recovery center, but will also offer resources to patients through a peer based program. And at Thursday's focus group, community leaders, including an Ozark Center clinical director, were ready to support this organization.
Spencer Ellis, Ozark Center Outpatient Substance Abuse Services Clinical Director says, "I'm hoping to bring to the table the services that we offer throughout the community at each of our sites. We are working with nine different treatment courts and outpatient and residential detox services that we have."
Details are still being worked out for a possible location that could be opened soon. And when a location has been secured, members will make a public announcement.
