An area farmer’s market is the setting for a fall celebration.
Children and their parents in the Webb City School District’s ‘Parents as Teachers’ program gathered at the farmer’s market for a fall get together. The occasion was the annual Pumpkins in the Park celebration. Early Childhood director Jenny Parker says it’s a chance for families in the same program to get out of their houses to meet each other.
“Where we welcome all of our parent educator families and all of our preschool families that attend to come out and decorate a pumpkin and enjoy playing with their friends and getting that social interaction,” says Jenny Parker.
The Parents as Teachers program, among other things, gives parents with kids five and under the chance to have an educator come into their homes to make sure they are progressing at a normal rate.
