Some Missouri Southern students came out to train with members of the Missouri National Guard this morning.
The Missouri Army National Guard Fitness Improvement Training Program is geared to helping soldiers meet the exercise goals set by the army. They travel across the show-me state and invite members of the public to join their physical training sessions.Today participants started off with warm ups and then shifted into more intense cardio routines. While the workout is rough, many seem to enjoy the exercise.
Lt Megan Webb, the fitness improvement director, says “Hosting the PT with MONG events are fun events. So we have a good time coming out and leading the workouts. It it’s fun for us, it’s fun for the participants. It is different than traditional Army PT. We still do that and that’s very important, but variety is important as well.” The Missouri Army National Guard Fitness Improvement Training Program is planing on visiting MSSU again later this year.
