An area university and community college sign on the dotted line, making it easier for certain students to transfer. The agreement applies to engineering technology students at Pitt State and Independence Community College.
Students that receive their associates degree from Independence are able to seamlessly transfer to PSU to get their bachelor’s. Pitt State President, Dr Steve Scott says the agreement is a win-win, for both institutions. He says, “when we talk about seamless I think the students like that and parents like it even more but I’m guessing what the students really warm up to is when we mention the kinds of companies that come here to hire these graduates and also the salaries they’re going out with”
Scott says those with a bachelor’s in Engineering Tech are much more sought after than those with an associate’s degree.
