PSU Honors College students do yard work

For a few Pittsburg area students it’s not just good grades that they’re focusing on.

Members of the PSU Honors College are getting ready to go out into their community and do yard work for residents that can’t do it themselves. Honors College director Craig Fuchs says the group needs to have local residents contact them to get their projects on the books for the day of the event.

“Then we’ll have an inspection team that comes out to the site and makes sure this is within our abilities, kinds of gives an idea of what supplies we might need as well and then the day of we’ll break into teams,” says Craig Fuchs.

The fifth annual “Pitt Project” is a one day event scheduled for October 27th. The crews will go the properties and work from about 9:30 a.m. that day until about noon. Students will be raking leaves, cleaning gutters and painting.
