The process to fill an empty Joplin council seat is moving ahead.

Race management director contractor Tom Rogers and former mayor Mike Seibert have already indicated his interest in the job. The seat was vacated when Jim West submitted his resignation citing personal reasons last Friday.

The city council is taking applications through March 7th and expects to make an appointment by March 18th.
