Possibility Junction is looking to expand its services.
Possibility Junction started out two years ago as a small scale mental health resource. Fast forward to now, they are looking to serve Cherokee county and help their patients to be their best.
Sandra Kamin started Possibility Junction with a patient list and a heart full of hope. After working as a mental health professional for more than 25 years, she took it upon herself to open a faculty of her own.
“Initially it was for children, just because I felt there was a need there. But I have worked with all ages from 5 to 85. And so there’s no limits for what Possibility Junction can offer,” says Sandra Kamin.
The organization works to provide mental health resources to adults and children in Crawford county. Since its start, the resource center has expanded into several schools, offering mental health therapy and even prescribing medication.
“We’re providing two different groups, a youth ‘more powerful you’ group and an adult ‘more powerful you’ group. To help people find their power, make their connections, overcome their mental health struggles and become their best you,”says Kamin.
And in the next couple weeks, the organization will be opening its second location out of Baxter Springs. They realized the need to add another location when they found out that some mental health patients went to a computer system for their medical prescriptions.
“There’s not even a person that’s sitting with your child while they’re evaluating them for medication. We think that’s necessary so we’re bringing that to Cherokee County,” says Kamin.
The newest location is set to open in Baxter Springs in March. And the organization’s founder is hoping to add more locations in the future.
