The Pittsburg Salvation Army says they owe their success to the generous donations of Crawford County residents.
The organization recently announced they are functioning through the donations of the local community only. Any clothing, furniture or monetary donation goes strictly to help local residents. They even offer emergency family services, utility help and spiritual guidance just to name a few of their other duties.
“It’s very important that we honor our local donors. Because when people, when donors donate to us they want their items to stay local. And so it’s very important that our donor meets the local needs,” says Lt. Mylie Hadden, Salvation Army Pittsburg.
Right now the organization is looking to extend their services by adding a home goods pantry. The new addition will help provide things like paper goods and soap to those that need it.
