Pittsburg Multigenerational Chorus performs free concert Thursday night

News
More than 1,000 people came to see nearly 200 voices from throughout the area perform in “Sing4Peace.” Singers ranging in age from 14 to 89 orchestrated a musical in response to violence nationally and globally. Some of the songs included “Imagine”, “One Day” and “Sound of Silence”.

“The recent happenings in our world, but look back on history unfortunately showing that violence has been around for along time, but it doesn’t matter. The human spirit still desires hope and peace,” said Pittsburg High School Vocal Music Teacher Susan Laushman.

“This is my first appearance in the chorus, but it’s an exciting one because my mother who is 76 and my son who’s going to be six sixteen are both a part of this chorus.  And so when you say ‘multigeneratonal,’ it truly is,” said Andra Sefanoni, a chorus member and Pittsburg High School grad.

Tonight’s concert was also dedicated in loving memory of Barbara Foresman, who was a member of the Pittsburg High School Class of 1956 and faithful multigenerational chorus member.
