Pittsburg Fire Department take a couple lucky kids Christmas shopping

The Pittsburg Fire Department take a couple of lucky kids on a shopping spree today.

Firefighters met with local children at the Walmart in Pittsburg to fill their holiday wish lists. The shopping spree was funded through the donations of the Pittsburg Fire Department. The firefighters participate in this program to provide gifts for children who could otherwise have to go without.

“It’s a chance for us to give back to the community and give something to the kids that might not otherwise, under some circumstances have something to open up on Christmas day,” says Thomas Vacca, Pittsburg Fire Marshall.

The fire department has been doing their holiday shopping spree for more than 15 years. Firefighters then drove their truck to each child’s house to drop off their Christmas gifts this evening.
