A Pittsburg State teacher will be walking the stage this month, but as a student. She will be receiving a fifth degree from the institution, which will be her Doctorate.
Tracy Stahl, a Pittsburg State instructor, a wife, and a mother, can now add doctor to her title. As later this month she will be receiving her fifth degree from her university.
“I feel proud that I can represent my university at the doctoral level,” says Tracy Stahl.
But her journey didn’t begin with nursing. Back in 1989 Stahl graduated from PSU with her first degree in Marketing. However, when her World War II veteran father fell ill, seeing the nurses bring him back to health sparked something in her.
“Having experienced being cared for by a nurse that made such a difference to my father and to my family, that pushed me to change careers and go back into nursing,” says Stahl.
Stahl obtained her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 1994 and her Master’s in 2009. She says that through the years she was able to remain motivated by the dedication her father role modeled for her when she was growing up.
“I think he has impacted me in many ways. The way I look at life and in the way I treat others,” says Stahl.
