Residents are enjoying the sunny skies and listening to some bluegrass gospel music.
The first Pickin’ and Picnic’n in the Park was held at Center Creek park this afternoon. This is the third and final day of this year’s Carl Junction Bluegrass Festival weekend. It’s an hour where residents can bring a lunch and listen to the Picker’s Post band from Kansas play. This is the first time the Bluegrass Festival has been extended to three days and this event will help gauge the public interest in keeping a third day for next year.
“People asked for something to be added to the festival and we try to be careful about changes so we ventured out and thought this would be a good way to test out what a third day would be like.” says Band Coordinator Chuck Doyle
The Carl Junction Bluegrass Festival will return late next Septmeber.
