A man who has researched several mass murders is in Neosho talking about the Behaviors Teen Killers exhibit.
Phil Chalmers has spent his career studying different crimes and the behaviors of murderers. In his seminar, “Why Teens Kill” he explains how a student can be influenced by harmful behaviors from molestation to violent video games. Several school district leaders and law enforcement agencies were in attendance to learn the signs and how to prepare for the worst.
“There’s a lot of video games I never thought existed and a lot of things you can do on video games that I never thought existed. I personally don’t have kids yet and I know my kids will have a rude awakening when they get older,” says Sarah Swearingen with Neosho School District.
“Number one to the students: I would say if you see something, say something. To the adults: You can’t stop what you don’t know. You can’t stop what you don’t know,” says Phil Chalmers.
Chalmers says being prepared and educating yourself of the signs is the best way to help prevent deadly situations, like school shootings. If you want to learn more or contact Chalmers we have provided a link to his website here.
