The Missouri Department of Transportation calls driving in parts of Missouri “treacherous.”

As of 3pm Friday, the MODOT traveler map has several main thoroughfaires covered in the southwest part of the state.

In southeast Kansas, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has been busy all day responding to crashes.

The Sheriff urges people to stay home and not go out unless they have to.

Meanwhile, in northeast Oklahoma, the City of Miami says, “Please use caution if you have to get out today and always maintain a safe distance from any (salt/plow) vehicle.”

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until later this evening for all of the Four States. Freezing rain and drizzle, sleet, and some snowfall as well as a wintry mix will continue for the next several hours in the Four States region.
