A South Carolina woman was killed Monday morning when she was hit by a car at a bus stop while talking to the school bus driver, according to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore.
It happened about 6:40 a.m. in the town of Starr.
Shore said the woman was standing talking to the bus driver through the bus window when a car drove up over a hill and hit her. He said the car and the bus were facing in opposite directions. Shore said fog was a factor in the accident.
The woman’s child attended nearby Crescent High School, Shore said. He said the student was on the bus when his mother was hit.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
