Organization to help veterans with PTSD benefited through Neosho church fundraiser

A local church was honoring and helping those that have served our country on Sunday.

Hilldale Baptist Church in Neosho held a fundraiser for Charlie 22.

Charlie 22 takes people that have served in the military hunting, fishing, or out for other outdoor activities for free to help veterans heal from PTSD.

Residents were able to eat food, listen to speakers, watch a color guard presentation, and participate in a live auction for donated items.

The church’s pastor says that he was hoping to touch many lives through this event, and he feels he has accomplished that through this event.

Dr. Philip Mcclendon, Pastor, says, “A dream came to my mind. A dream would be that it would be so big that we couldn’t contain it within our church and so now now have a tent, and you look at the parking lots around us.”

All the proceeds go back to Charlie 22 with Sunday’s goal set at $15,000.
