One million dollar Powerball ticket sold in Joplin, prize still unclaimed

JOPLIN, Mo. - Was it a local resident stopping in for a quick snack or a tank of gas who added a last-minute Powerball ticket to their purchase? Or maybe it was someone who went to the store specifically to buy tickets for the high Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots this week?

Whatever the case, a customer at Snak-Atak, 4302 S. Main St. in Joplin, can now lay claim to a $1 million Powerball prize after matching all five white-ball numbers drawn in the Oct. 10 drawing. The winning number combination was 8, 23, 27, 42 and 60.

“If you’re the lucky player holding the million-dollar ticket from last night’s drawing,  be sure to sign the back of it right away, and keep it in a safe place until you’re ready to claim your prize,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery.

The win marks the 51st time a Missouri Lottery player has won a $1 million Powerball “Match 5” prize since 2012.

Draw Game winners have exactly 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. In this case, the winner has until April 8, 2019.  Prizes can be claimed at any of the Lottery’s four offices, which are located in Springfield, Jefferson City, Kansas City and St. Louis.

The estimated jackpot for Saturday night’s Powerball drawing is $314 million.
