Vision Carthage has been in existence for five years with the main goal of downtown beautification. The organization has paid for special flower pots on sidewalks on the business side of the Carthage Square. The group hopes to put out more planters in the future with money raised from Give Carthage Day.

“They’re expensive. It’s about $5,000 for them because they’re self watering type of planter so it’s a very specific kind so some of the volunteers don’t have to schlep hoses everyday to try and get the watering done specially in the hot sun during the summer months,” says Amy Almandinger with Vision Carthage.

Vision Carthage has also paid for flowers on the courthouse grounds as well as the irrigation system that keeps them watered.
