Sooner state senators give their final approval to the state’s budget.
Tuesday, Senators approved the Oklahoma State Budget by a 37 to 11 vote. It has already passed through the State House. The budget includes $157.9 million for education, including enough money to raise teacher pay by an average of about $1,200.
The budget also includes $1.7 million to expand drug court options for non-violent offenders. And $4.6 million to increase immunizations and staff county health departments throughout the state.
